Empty Injectors are the rarest crafting component in Resident Evil Requiem — consumable one-time vessels that, when combined with Infected Blood, produce Steroids (permanent max health increase) and Stabilizers (permanent weapon damage and handling).
There are 3 standard Empty Injectors on all difficulties, plus a fourth Insanity-only injector.
All four are in the Care Center, and all four are marked on the Care Center map guide. You can find all maps by visiting our Resident Evil Requiem interactive guide hub.
Empty Injectors are the crafting container for Grace's two permanent stat upgrades. Combining one with Infected Blood produces either Steroids (permanent max health) or a Stabilizer (permanent weapon damage and handling).
Both are stackable — you can use multiple injectors to craft multiple copies of each upgrade, significantly increasing Grace's ceiling across a full playthrough.
Each injector is consumed on use. They are not refillable.
Before you can craft either upgrade, you need your Blood Collector capacity above 100 units. Steroids require approximately 130 units of Infected Blood, and Stabilizers require approximately 120 — both exceed the base 100-unit cap.
Buy the Matsuoka Override Manual from the Parlor (6 Antique Coins) to raise capacity to 150 before attempting to craft.
You also need the Blood Specimen (Reversible) analyzed on the Analyzer in the Blood Lab to unlock both recipes — the Reversible Specimen unlocks Steroids and Stabilizer simultaneously.
See the Blood Specimen guide for its location and the Level 1 Wristband needed to access it.
The most important rule for this guide: do not insert all three Joint Plugs into the Holding Cell Power socket before collecting the injector in the cell next to the toilet.
Inserting the third plug triggers a cutscene that permanently locks you out of that cell for the rest of the playthrough.
The zombie smashes the cell door open after you collect the three Joint Plugs — enter immediately when the door breaks, grab the injector, and only then proceed with story objectives.
If you miss this injector, there is no recovery option outside of a previous manual save.
From the Parlor (4 Antique Coins each), you can get one pre-made Steroids and one pre-made Stabilizer without using any Empty Injectors.
Every crafted injector is then an additional stack on top of those. Most players use the first two crafted injectors on Steroids — the health buffer is immediately felt on Standard and essential on Insanity.
Save at least one crafted injector for a Stabilizer if you rely on precision shots against late-game enemies. On Insanity, a fourth injector appears on a counter near the plates in the Care Center Kitchen — tagged in the checklist below.
